צ'ק-ליסט דיגיטלי לפני הטיסה: 5 צעדים שלא תשכחו

Before you board the plane, your phone needs to be ready for the journey. It's not just about charging the battery — it's a digital routine check that will save you headaches abroad. Here's a 5-step checklist you won't forget.

1. Check your carrier's roaming apps

Before you leave home, open your carrier's app (Cellcom, Hot or Partner) and make sure data roaming is enabled or disabled to avoid surprise charges. This is the first and most important step.

2. Download offline maps

Even if you have internet connection, offline maps are insurance. Download your destination area on Google Maps or Offline Maps before your flight. You won't want to be left without navigation in the field.

3. Set up your eSIM (if you chose smart roaming)

If you've decided to use an eSIM from nRed, now is the time to install it. Scan the QR code before your flight — doing this on the ground, in the quiet of your home, is much easier than at the airport. The eSIM activates immediately after installation, but you can choose when to actually turn it on.

4. Make sure your Israeli SIM is still in your device

If you're keeping your Israeli SIM in your phone (which is recommended), turn off its data roaming to avoid charges abroad. With an eSIM, your Israeli SIM can stay in place — just not active.

5. Check access to important accounts

Before your flight, make sure you can log into your banking, email and messaging apps. This is the time to fix two-factor authentication issues, not when you're at an airport abroad.

The goal? To arrive at your destination — whether it's the Netherlands, Italy or Thailand — with stable connection and no surprises on your phone bill. With this checklist, you can focus on what really matters: the trip itself.
