Andorra is a small country between Spain and France, and most people visit for a weekend or a ski week. So the rule is simple: choose a short eSIM package that matches the number of days you'll be in Andorra, and check in advance what to do about data on the way there and back. You install the eSIM at home and activate it when you arrive.
We've already written 5 tricks to save on data in Andorra. Here we'll focus on what makes Andorra special: a small country you reach through other countries, and usually for a short trip.
Andorra is a separate country, and that changes your choice
Andorra is not a region of Spain and not part of France. nRed's eSIM packages for Andorra connect to the Andorra Telecom network. The practical meaning: a package for Spain or France is intended for that country. Don't assume it will work in Andorra too. You can see what's included in each package on the package page before purchase.
How you get there, and what that means for data
Andorra has no international airport. Most travelers land in Spain or France and travel overland from there. That means your trip is usually made up of three parts: arrival and the journey, your days in Andorra, and the journey back. There are a few ways to cover them:
- Andorra-only package: Right if you don't need cellular data on the way and can get by with Wi-Fi there.
- Package for each country: If you're also traveling in Spain or France, you can choose a package for each country based on how many days you'll be there. Our pages: eSIM for Spain and eSIM for France. Also see: eSIM in Spain and eSIM in France.
- Europe package: You can read the guide to eSIM in Europe, but before buying, check on the package page which countries are included and whether Andorra is among them.
A tip that saves confusion: you can install all packages in advance (how many packages you can have on your phone depends on the model), and activate only the line for the country you're in each time. A package's validity starts counting when the eSIM first connects to the network in the destination country, not at the moment of purchase.
Ski or weekend: how many days and how much data
Choose the number of days first, then the data amount.
- Short weekend: A short package is enough, especially if there's Wi-Fi where you're staying.
- Ski week: Every day you have navigation, group messages, photos and videos. Here it's worth choosing a package whose validity covers the whole week.
- Remote work or heavy use: If you're uploading videos, making video calls or working from your phone, consider an unlimited package.
The Andorra packages page has packages by data amount and also unlimited packages, with different validity periods. As shown on the package page, with unlimited packages, after using 3GB per day, speed is reduced to 1 Mbps for the rest of that day. And if you want to calculate by days and by type of use, we have a guide to how much data you need abroad.
In the mountains and snow: what to do before you leave
Reception in the mountains varies from point to point, so don't rely on continuous connection everywhere.
- Download an offline map of Andorra and the route there.
- Save screenshots of accommodation bookings, equipment and tickets.
- Keep your phone close to your body. Cold drains the battery faster, and it's easy to forget on a long ski day.
- Take a portable charger.
- Set a meeting point with your group in case there are no messages.

Frequently asked questions
Will a Spain package work in Andorra too? Don't assume so. Each package is intended for the country or countries listed on its page. If you need Andorra too, check on the package page which countries are included, and if Andorra isn't among them, choose a separate package for it.
Can I get one package for Spain, Andorra and France? It depends on which countries the package includes. The simple and clear way is one package per country, based on how many days you'll be there.
What happens to my Israeli SIM? Your Israeli SIM stays in the phone. It's recommended to turn off data roaming on it. If you can receive calls and SMS abroad on it, and at what price, that depends on your operator's plan. nRed's eSIM is for data only, without calls and SMS.
The data ran out in the middle of the vacation. What do I do? The package page shows whether the package supports top-up. If it does, you add data to the same eSIM through your personal area on the website, without installing a new code.
What if there's no internet after arrival? Check that the eSIM line is selected for data and data roaming is on for it, and restart your phone. If it still doesn't work, nRed's support team is available through the support page.
