St. Barthélemy is one of the most beautiful destinations in the Caribbean — white sand beaches, turquoise waters, and a slow pace of life that invites you to escape the stress. But before you fly there, it's important to make sure the digital side of your trip is properly organized. Here's a checklist to help you avoid unpleasant surprises at the airport.

1. Check your device's eSIM compatibility

Before your flight, make sure your phone supports eSIM. Most new iPhone and Android models are compatible, but it's good to check to avoid running into issues at the airport. If your device supports it — you're already halfway there.

2. Download your QR file in advance

When you're connected to a good internet connection (at home, before your flight), download the QR file of your eSIM. It's not a physical card that can be lost, but a code you can save in a folder on your phone or in the cloud. If something happens along the way, you'll have a backup.

3. Turn off data roaming on your Israeli SIM

Keep your SIM in your device — it's convenient so you can stay connected to an Israeli carrier if needed. But it's very important: turn off data roaming on your Israeli SIM to avoid unexpected charges. This will make a big difference in your bill at the end of the month.

4. Check your eSIM roaming settings

When you install the eSIM by scanning the QR code, make sure it's set as your primary line for data. In your phone's settings, check that the eSIM is configured for browsing and data use abroad — it's not difficult, it just needs to be first in line.

5. Enable location and communication services

Make sure GPS, maps, and phone settings are enabled. In St. Barthélemy, you want to be able to navigate easily, make calls when needed, and send messages. The eSIM gives you full access to all of these.

6. Download maps for offline use

Even though you'll have a connection, it's good to download maps of St. Barthélemy in advance on Google Maps or Offline Maps. That way, if you're on a beach without strong signal, you can still navigate safely.

Installing the eSIM by scanning the QR code is simple and easy — it takes just a few minutes, and it doesn't require swapping physical cards at the airport. Once you've completed this checklist, you can focus on what really matters: beaches, sun, and freedom.

Have a great trip!
