Flying to Greece in a few weeks? Let us save you the airport panic. Most Israeli travelers arrive at the airport only to discover they've forgotten something essential — and it's usually something digital. Whether you're planning a city trip to Athens or chasing the sun in Santorini, this checklist will help you not forget a thing.
1. Make sure your passport is still valid
It sounds obvious, but it's the first thing you need to check. Your Israeli passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your travel date. Better check it now, while there's still time to renew if needed. You can also take a digital photo of the main page — save it to Google Drive or a notes app, just in case of emergency.
2. Download your flight tickets to Wallet
Don't rely on email alone. Add your flight tickets to the Wallet app (or Google Pay on Android phones). This way you'll have instant access at the airport, even if your phone has no signal. Do the same with your hotel check-in tickets.
3. Check your device's roaming capability
Open your phone settings and make sure your device supports data roaming abroad. This is also the time to turn off data roaming (to avoid unexpected bills). Your Israeli SIM will stay in the device, but it won't be active during your trip. Add essential phone numbers directly to your phone (not just on Facebook or WhatsApp), and also save them in a photo in Google Photos. Include your bank's phone number in Israel, the Israeli consulate in Greece (in Athens), and your insurance company's number.
6. Check the battery level of every device
Before you fly, make sure every device you have — your phone, smartwatch, wireless earbuds — is fully charged. If you're traveling with chargers or external batteries, make sure they comply with flight regulations. Once you land in Greece, you'll be able to connect to internet and maintain your battery levels.
